David F Chappell

David Forrest "Duck" Chappell, 54, a self-employed contractor, died Thursday, June 1, 2006, at his home in the Sawdust community. A memorial service for Mr. Chappell will be conducted Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. David McGregor officiating. The family will visit with friends from 4 until 7 before the memorial service. He was a 1969 graduate of Columbia Central High School and a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Jasmine Chappell and Ashton Chappell, both of Columbia, and a son, Zack (Jenna) Chappell of Fort Hood, Texas; two sisters, Jackie (Terry) Maynard of Columbus, Mississippi, and Jean (Patrick) Powell of Columbia; a niece, Leigh Anne Powell of Americus, Georgia, and three nephews, Geoff Maynard of Memphis, Chris (Renee) Maynard of Lexington, and Patrick Powell of Knoxville.
