David Eugene Hassell

David Eugene Hassell, 60, retired freelance designer and resident of Hermitage, died Wednesday, November 7, 2018.A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at The Glade Church in Mt. Juliet with Mark Marshall, Michael Eubanks, and Bruce Grubbs officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. and Saturday from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. at The Glade Church, 9000 Stewarts Ferry Pike, Mt. Juliet. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements.Born July 20, 1958 in Birmingham, Alabama, Mr. Hassell was the son of Eugene Neal Hassell and Jessie Belcher Hassell. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Belmont University. He enjoyed singing and playing the piano. Mr. Hassell loved his family dearly, especially his children. He enjoyed traveling, cooking, art and decorating. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Mamie Britt Hassell; son, Jude Simon Hassell; sisters, Joy (Brian) Wood and Jo Anna (Chris) McCarver; mother of his children, Lori Britt Hassell; and several nieces & nephews.
