Mr. David Michael Hartsfield, 65, retired owner and operator of Marquis Carpets and resident of Mt. Olivet Road, died Friday, June 21, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Andrew Roberts and Bradley Dugger officiating. Burial will follow in Philadelphia Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Maury County Library, 211 West 8th Street, Columbia, TN 38401 and to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Henry Nathaniel Hartsfield and the late Louise Grooms Hartsfield. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He enjoyed all types of cars, especially his 1996 Mustang Cobra and loved spending quality time traveling with his family. He attended the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife whom he married December 19, 1975, Regena White Hartsfield of Columbia; daughter, Rebekah Ann Hartsfield of Columbia; son, Micah (Monica) Hartsfield of Columbia; brothers and sisters, Henry (Maxine) Hartsfield of Florida, Jimmy (Mary) Hartsfield of Seattle, Washington, Faye Hartsfield, Jerry (Pat) Hartsfield, and Pam Black all of Columbia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by brothers, Bill Hartsfield and Bobby Hartsfield. Family and Friends will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include past & present employees of Marquis Carpets.
