View Funeral Webcast David Ingram Wise, 88, Senior Vice President at First Farmers and Merchants Bank and resident of North High Street, died Friday, January 31, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy Vann officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Monday from 3:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial to First United Methodist Church, 222 West Seventh Street, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born August 22, 1931, in Marshall County, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Charles Dana Wise and the late Esther Ingram Wise. Mr. Wise was a past President for Columbia Rotary Club, Civitan of Columbia, and Maury County Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he served as a board member and was in the Ayers-Whitney Sunday School Class. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Nick) Meador of Gallatin; step children, Neilanne (Bill) Thomas of Alabama; and Martin (Carol) Puryear of North Carolina; grandchildren, Benjamin David (Gretchen) Meador; Ann Lindsey Thomas; Mary Locke (James) Rollins; Eliza (Davis) Maxwell; and great grandchildren, Zoe Elizabeth Meador; Emma Lins Meador; Emmaline Rollins; Henry Rollins; Ann Beatty Maxwell; and Frances Maxwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Marie Jarratt Wise; second wife, Mary Neil Robinson Puryear Wise; daughter, Susan Dana Wise; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Claire Meador. Active pallbearers will be George Horn, Donny Walters, Kenneth Pitts, Harold Meador, Stanton Gunnells, and Bruce Andrews. Honorary pallbearers include members of First Farmers and Merchants Bank Board and Staff.
