David Wells Kodatt, 89, former owner and operator of Forest Park Glass & Mirror and resident of West 7th Street, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at NHC Columbia.Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 P.M. EST at Osborn Cemetery in Hiawassee, Georgia. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M EST at Cochran Funeral Home in Hiawassee, Georgia. He married Nora Melva Fannin Kodatt and their sixty year marriage ended with her death March 26, 2007. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Kodatt was a member of South Gate Church of Christ. Survivors include his children, Gena Oliver of Hiawassee, GA; Kaye (Steve) Sosebee of Lake City, GA; John (Tammy) Kodatt of Columbia; sister, Mary Ellen (Jack) Goddard of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Jennifer Cantrell, Drew Oliver, Kelly Brown, Kylie Kodatt, Kinsey Kodatt, Keyton Kodatt; and great grandchildren, Bryan Ellis, Harper Oliver, and Lynley Brown.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Susan Kodatt; brothers, Emil Kodatt, Jr., Reese Kodatt, and Charles Kodatt.
