Mr. Alvin David Smithson, age 61 died surrounded by his family, Saturday, August 14, 2004 at his residence in the Duplex Community. He was a longtime resident of Williamson County and was a builder and contractor. He was a previous Three Bar Rodeo Association Bull Riding Champion and continued his love of the rodeo and cattle with heritage to his family. He was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse and also attended Apostolic Faith Church. Preceded in death by his father, Rev. Walter Lee Smithson.Survivors include: Wife, Marilyn Deason Smithson of Duplex Community,Sons,Sammy Smithson & wife Sarah of Duplex Community,Troy Smithson & wife Cindy of Duplex Community;Mother,Mrs. Ovella Stinson Smithson of Franklin; Brothers, Pastor Jimmy Smithson & wife Robbie; Thomas Smithson & wife Debbie of Franklin; Sisters,Carolyn Andrews & husband Frank of Franklin, Mary Ann Emler & husband Randall of the Fly Community; Grandchildren, Calli Jo, Trevor, Ty & Jesse Smithson and Drake Hamby.Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with Jimmy Smithson and Dillon Sullivan officiating.
