View Funeral Webcast  David Theodore “Teddy Bear” Warren, 82, retired financial clerk for the United States Postal Service and resident of Double Branch Road, died Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Magnolia Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Eddie Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born June 18, 1937 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Clifford L. Warren and the late Delcie Maria Pennington Warren. On December 29, 1956, he married Muriel Rose Hall Warren who preceded him in death May 5, 2017. He was a 1955 graduate of Columbia Central High School and was drafted into the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany. Mr. Warren was well-known for his musical talents of playing the harmonica and banjo. At one time, he was a CB-Ham Radio Operator, a member of the Sugar Ridge Bluegrass Band and the Fireside Pickers. Mr. Warren was a former member of the American Legion Post 19 and attended Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter, Carolee Warren (Jimmy) Beecham of Lafayette; granddaughter, Allison Rose Beecham of Lafayette; brother, Conrad (Ginger) Warren of Ellicott City, Maryland; sister-in-law, Jackie (Glenn) Johnson of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie Warren. Active pallbearers will be Hal Holcomb, Ray Holcomb, Frank O’Rourke, Donnie Walters, Dwayne Carter, and James Bozeman.
