Della Ruth Shea Garner, 85, retired from Publix Shirt Factory and resident of Columbia, died September 14, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brandon Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born June 6, 1936 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Dan Shea and the late Ola L. Holt Shea. On June 20, 1952, she married Billy Ray Garner who preceded her in death February 21, 1994. Mrs. Garner was an excellent cook and enjoyed collecting figurines. She was a member of the church of Christ and formerly attended Cedar Hill Church of Christ and Philip Church of Christ. Survivors include her son, Carl Bailey Garner of Columbia; sister, Ethel Marie Shea Ragsdale of Nashville; and niece, Mindie Lynne Ragsdale (Shane) Ayers of Columbia. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruby Shea, John Edward Shea, Kenneth Brown Shea, Dan Shea, Jr., Earl Ray Shea, Hubert Holt, Sam Shea, and Annie Lou Dorton. Active pallbearers will be Neal Griggs, Doug Rohde, Keith Balentine, John Tosh, Stanley Ward, and Brandon Cothran.
