Delores Brown Ring

Delores Brown Ring, 91, retired waitress and cook at Lucille’s Restaurant and life-long resident of Columbia, died Monday, February 17, 2020 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Swango officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday after 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born June 9, 1928 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Murray Brown and the late Dewey Hanvy Brown. On May 11, 1946, she married William Boyd Ring, Sr. who preceded her in death February 15, 2003. A very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Mrs. Ring always enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading and was a member of South Gate Church of Christ. Survivors include her children, William “Butch” Ring of Culleoka; David Carl Ring of Smyrna; Kathy Marie Ferguson of Lawrenceburg; Murray (Lisa) Ring of Columbia; Michael (Jodi) Ring of Lewisburg; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and special friend, Carolyn Moore. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy C. Brown. Active pallbearers will be Tim Isabell, Chris Spires, Brett Devitt, David Riley, Scott Cheek, Michael McClure, Todd Westmoreland, and Shane Andrews. Honorary pallbearers include Maintenance Department and Central Office of Maury County Schools.
