Dennis Owen Jones

Mr. Dennis Owen Jones, 53, owner of Jones Rapid Change and resident of Mooresville Pike, died Thursday, September 8, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eastside church of Christ with Jack White and Elmer Lusk officiating. Burial will be in Lynnwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday after 3 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. He was a 1970 graduate of Columbia Central High School. On February 16, 1974 he married Wanda Thurman Jones who survives him. He was a former employee of A.B. Jones & Sons car dealership. Mr. Jones was a member of Eastside church of Christ. Survivors in addition to his wife and father are three sons, Jeremiah Jones, Cody Jones, Trenton Jones all of Columbia; one grandson, John Bryson Jones of Columbia; two sisters, Debbie (Donnie) Boshers and Deana Jones both of Columbia; mother-in-law, Pauline Thurman; brother-in-law, Royce (Connie) Thurman; nephews, Tyler Boshers, Peyton Boshers, Bailey Boshers, Caleb Thurman; aunts, Norma (Ronald) Boyette, Elaine Whitehead; and uncles, Bill (Peggy) Jones and Larry (Freda) Jones. Pallbearers will be Tim Webb, Joe Matlock, Sonny Hargrove, Mike Boyette, Doug Jones, Jody Williams, Edward Hargrove, Wayne Smith and Tim Tisher. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Sam Kuykendall, Dr. John Collier, Johnny Massey, Tommy Wayne Anderson, Mike Dawson, J.W. Gilliam, Randy Jones, Duane Allen, Joey Davis, Bobby Crowell, Buddy Hardison, the staff of Columbia Academy and men of Eastside church of Christ.
