View Funeral Webcast Dennis Wayne Dungy, 69, died Thursday, June 22, 2023 at his residence in Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Andrews Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born February 16, 1954 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Thomas Edward “T.E.” Dungy and the late Bessie Thompson Dungy. Mr. Dungy loved playing music, wood crafting, reading, watching sports, and most of all being with his grandchildren. He was of the Christian faith. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Lovell Dungy of Columbia; children, Duane (Mimy) Dungy of Culleoka; Cara (Chad) Braden of Pulaski; Charlie Dungy of Culleoka; Phillip Dungy of Culleoka; grandchildren, Halle Braden, Gracie Braden, Ryder Dungy, Knightly Dungy; sisters, Bethany Dungy, Patricia Adkins; brothers, Gary (Linda) Dungy; Joey Dungy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Jesse Dungy, Wendell Dungy, Thomas Lee Dungy, and Lena Sue Dungy.
