Diane Smith

Diane Smith, 65, former employee of Swarco and resident of Columbia, died Saturday, September 24, 2022 at St. Thomas Mid-Town. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brandon Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born August 1, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Lecil Andrew Smith and the late Jessie Malone Smith. Always known for having a smile and sweet to everyone she met, Diane was a friendly person. She loved country music and watching wrestling. Diane was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include her brothers, Jerry Smith of Columbia; Jim (Geneva) Miller of Henryville; Danny (Letha) Smith of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Cody Miller, Tyler Miller, Steve Yant, Mason Yant, Matt Smith, and Lance Smith.
