View Video Tribute Diann Mitchell Shoemake was Born November 23, 1954 in Nuremberg, Germany, she was the beloved daughter of Mary R. Mitchell and the late Billy D Mitchell. She was a 1972 graduate of Caldwell County High in Princeton, Kentucky. Diann loved painting, singing, and arts and crafts. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Columbia TN where she was a former choir member and involved with Vacation Bible School. Diann will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 24 years, Stephen Ray Shoemake of Columbia; her mother, Mary R. Mitchell of Columbia; sister, Debi M. (Marvin) Cobern of Spring Hill; brother Douglas (Jennifer) Mitchell of Montgomery, Alabama; granddaughter, Leticia Mia Cobern; nephews: Christopher M. (Amanda) Cobern and Douglas C. Cobern; niece: Caitlan Mitchell (Matt) Williams; sister-in-law, Carolyn Lewis; and brother-in-law, Richard Shoemake and by her many friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her Father Billy D Mitchell and her Son Joshua Neal McCarley. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 in the afternoon. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Chaplain Douglas Cobern officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday starting a 1 o’clock in the afternoon at the funeral home. Burial will occur on May 31st at 11:00 in the morning at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram Tennessee.
