Dick Lindsey, Sr. Mr. Horace Richard "Dick" Lindsey, Sr., 74, retired employee of ICI Americas, Inc. in Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, April 16, 2004, at his residence on West Cooper Street in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Franklin Williams officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. Memorials may be made to Willowbrook Hospice, 1164 Columbia Avenue, Franklin, TN 37064. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late John Douglas Lindsey and Ida Beatrice Cocke Lindsey. He served in the U. S. Army from 1951 -1953, having completed his basic training at Camp Carson, Colorado and having served the remaining time at Fort Richardson, Alaska. Mr. Lindsey was a member of Locust Street Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Catherine Lemay Lindsey of Mt. Pleasant; one daughter, Cathey Kennedy and her husband, Joel, of Mt. Pleasant; one son, Richard Lindsey, Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Mt. Pleasant; two grandchildren, Mary Beth Lovett and her husband, Brian, of Mt. Pleasant; Anthony Dewayne Lindsey of Mt. Pleasant; one brother, J. D. (Estalene) Lindsey of Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Pauline Anderson of Ohio; Lura Fitzgerald of Columbia; Ann Brown of Lewisburg; foster brothers and sisters, Jimmy Hendrix, Gladys Eastep, Linda Boshers, all of Mt. Pleasant; and Katherine Williams of Thompson Station; special little friends, Ashtin Lacy and Preston Lacy, both of Columbia. He was preceded in death by one grandson, John Lee Kennedy; two sisters, Mary Ellen Gibson and Norma Jean Winn; foster brothers and sister, Mark Hendrix, Clarence Hendrix, and Dorothy Lowery. Pallbearers will be Hazel Attkisson, Doug McClain, J. W. Boshers, Kenny Cummins, James Ferguson, and Don Lunn. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Bohrman, Earl Hayes, Louis McMillion, Bill McNeese, Sammy Boshers, and Ed Pullen.
