View Funeral Webcast Donald Henry Stockton, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on March 28, 2020, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born June 10, 1942 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Fred and Belle Stockton. Don grew up in East Tennessee and was a graduate of Washington College Academy High School in 1960 and a graduate of East Tennessee State University in 1964. After graduation, he entered the United States Army and then served in the Tennessee National Guard. He worked for Monsanto Company from 1966 to1996. He served as President of the Maury County Arts Guild from 2000 to 2001. He was a member of Highland Church of Christ. Don’s hobby was woodworking, especially making wooden toys. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. Mr. Stockton was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Don is survived by his wife of 53 years, Christine Caldwell Stockton; daughter, Diane Stockton (Doug) Patterson of Franklin, TN; sisters, Rebecca (Charles) Babb of Greeneville, TN; Patricia (Matt) Branham of Kingsport, TN; brother, Rickey (Sharon) Stockton of Dayton, TN; grandsons, Logan Douglas Patterson and Carson Stockton Patterson; brothers-in-law, Jim (Joyce) Caldwell of Brentwood, TN; Elvis (Mary Lee) Caldwell of Spring Hill, TN; sister-in-law, Sarah Caldwell of Columbia, TN; and several nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Franklin TN. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements.
