The sparkle in his eye was of his grandson whom he was most proud of; never missing a baseball or basketball game. He was an avid gardener with a love and respect for the land. He was an industrial maintenance mechanic and he passed on much knowledge to his son as they worked on random projects in the shop. He greatly loved his daughter-in-law whom he took in as the daughter he never had.
