View Funeral WebcastDonald Farris Jack, 86, resident of Sharon Circle, died Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Chaplain Lyndell Propst officiating. Burial will follow in Lynnwood Cemetery with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Maury Regional Medical Center NICU, 1224 Trotwood Avenue, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born October 14, 1929 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Grady Dewey Jack and Tiny Baker Jack. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. For forty-two years, Mr. Jack worked for Dupont/Spontex along with farming. In his youth, he enjoyed playing sports; and to this day, he loved watching football. He loved people and never met a stranger. Mr. Jack was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, Peggy Jean Kincaid Jack, whom he married May 20, 1955; son, David Robin (Darlene) Jack of Columbia; grandson, Christopher Robin Jack of Columbia; granddaughter, Phylis Renee Reed of Columbia; great grandson, Matthew Hunter Reed of Columbia; sisters, Gloria Louise Flowers of Oregon, Ruby Joyce (Edward) Jacobs of Columbia, and Iris Faye Daniels of Chattanooga; brother, Gary (Judy) Jack of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
