Donald Lee Joyce

Donald Lee "Don" Joyce, 67, retired employee of Saturn Corporation in Spring Hill and resident of Peach Orchard Road in Culleoka, died Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Maury Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 P.M. at Friendship Cemetery with Corey Bell officiating. Military honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Thursday from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to Culleoka Lions Club, P. Born August 20, 1949, in Pontiac, Michigan, he was the son of Elise Marie Hilton Joyce of Charlevoix, Michigan, and the late Peter L. Joyce. He earned his Associate's degree from Oakland Community College in Michigan. Mr. Joyce served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He loved living in the close-knit community of Culleoka where he knew no strangers and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. He enjoyed being outdoors and working with his horses. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. He was a member of the Culleoka Lions Club. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, whom he married February 20, 1970, Brenda Kay Monney Joyce of Culleoka; daughter, Jennifer Kay Joyce Braun of Culleoka; son, Michael Alan Joyce of Spring Hill; grandchildren, Abigail Mackenzie Braun and Caroline Elizabeth Braun, both of Culleoka; brother, Dennis A. Joyce of Hillman, Michigan; and sister, Alta Marie Walker of Pontiac, Michigan. Pallbearers will be Jay Creps, Carl Moore, Hershel Butler, Hershel "Chip" Butler, Bill Simpson, Bradley Richardson, Bubba Wilson, and Robert Cannady.
