Donna Marie Tomlin Cook, 48, former licensed practical nurse, died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at her residence on 5th Avenue. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will be in Lasting Hope Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5 - 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home. The daughter of Herschel Ray Tomlin of Linden and the late Betty Joanne Goad Hanson, she was born in Williamson County and raised in Maury County. She was a graduate of Central High School and the Maury County Hospital Nursing Program. Mrs. Cook was a member of the Baptist faith. She loved fishing and camping. Survivors in addition to her father include her daughter and son-in-law Amanda McKennon Walls and Wally Walls of Columbia, brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Linda Tomlin of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Brenda Boshers of St. Joseph; step-mother, Faye Tomlin of Linden; step-father, Jim Hanson of Columbia; step-grandchildren, Daniel Walls and Derrick Walls both of Columbia; two nieces, Dewaena Lee of Florida, Jessica Boshers of St. Joseph; aunts and uncles, Louise and Bill Chaffin, Mildred Lacky all of Columbia, Ann and Gene Fitzgerald of Williamsport, Joe Tomlin of Lawrenceburg, Gene and Zada Tomlin of Lewisburg; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Josh and Juanita Goad, Leon and Margie Tomlin; niece, Jennifer Boshers; and uncle Thomas Tomlin. Pallbearers will be David Fitzgerald, Brent Lemay, John Tomlin, James Tomlin, Daniel Walls, Billy Ray Huckaby, Ricky Huckaby and Steve Derryberry. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Fitzgerald, Gene Tomlin, Tina Tomlin and Cindy Brunson.
