View Video Tribute Dora J. Dawson LaCroix Barr, 89, died Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Mike Thomas and Gerald Barr officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born May 16, 1932 in Giles County, she was the daughter of the late Emmett Dawson and the late Vema Trice Dawson. At the age of 9, her family moved to Columbia. She was a 1951 graduate of Columbia Central High School. On March 8, 1952, she married Richard H. LaCroix who preceded her in death February 9, 1988. On March 4, 1999, she married Ralph Barr who preceded her in death June 5, 2014. Mrs. Barr was a member of West End Church of Christ in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and attended Highland Church of Christ and College Place Church of Christ. Survivors include daughter, Julie (Dwight) Boswell of Culleoka; step-son, Gerald (Stephanie) Barr of Bowling Green, Kentucky; grandchildren, Garrett Willis Barr, Lillian Claire Barr, Adam Boswell, Ashley Boswell; and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Steven LaCroix on January 27, 1971; and a much loved aunt, Ara Trice. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
