View Funeral Webcast View Video Tribute Mrs. Doris Ann Johnson Savage, 90, former resident of Woods Circle, died Friday, February 18, 2022 at The Bridge. Funeral services for Mrs. Savage will be conducted Saturday, February 26th at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Andrew Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Kittrell Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Born on July 14, 1931 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Claude Martin Johnson and the late Gladys Orena McAnally Johnson. She was a graduate of Haylong High School Class of 1950. On July 29, 1950 she married James Allen Savage who preceded her in death on May 13, 2018 after 67 years of marriage. For 23 years she worked for the City of Columbia where she was the payroll clerk. Mrs. Savage was a farmer’s wife for many years prior to going to work for the city. She was a great cook and seamstress, enjoyed camping with her husband and spending time with her family. Mrs. Savage was a member of Graymere Church of Christ and volunteered with the Meals On Wheels program. Survivors include her daughters, Deborah (David) Savage Coffman of Rockledge, Florida and Suzanne (George) Savage Mitchell of Columbia, Tennessee; sisters, Bobbie Claire Jones of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, Marsha Neilson of Knoxville, Tennessee and Susan Coffman of Lake Wales, Florida; grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) Coffman of Winter Springs, Florida, Lydia Coffman Winter Park, Florida, Mark Coffman of Denver, Colorado, Dylan Mitchell and Dalton Mitchell of Columbia, Tennessee; great grandchildren, Elijah Coffman and Ethan Coffman; step grandchildren, Derek (Cameron) Mitchell, Sonja Arnett, and Jessica (Jamie) Moyer; six step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Hemphill. Pallbearers will be David Coffman, George Mitchell, Matthew Coffman, Lydia Coffman, Mark Coffman, Dylan Mitchell and Dalton Mitchell. The family would like to give special thanks to her sitters, Valarie Gant, Denise Gant and the staff of The Bridge.
