View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Doris Hill Caperton, 83, retired teacher’s aide for Santa Fe Unit School, died Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Alive Hospice-Murfreesboro. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Sharlet Panhalkar officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Born October 31, 1938 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Malvin Erwin Hill and the late Jewell Baker Hill. On April 27, 1957, she married Sam Eugene Caperton who preceded her in death February 16, 2017. Earlier in life Mrs. Caperton worked for Gibson’s Department Store, and RevCo, now known as CVS. She was a member of Santa Fe United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Sherry (Venu) Ramanathan of Murfreesboro; son, Zack (Betsy) Caperton of Santa Fe; brother, Dalton Carl Hill of Rockwood; sister-in-law, JoAnn Berry of Columbia; several nieces, nephews, and feline companion, Gracie. Active pallbearers will be David Hill, Tristan Bond, Jeff Berry, Noah Blackburn, Brandon Hill, and Phil Sutherland. Honorary pallbearers include Scotty Stockard, members of Santa Fe United Methodist Church, friends at Santa Fe School, and CVS co-workers.
