MRS. DORIS PETTY Mrs. Doris Anne Shelby Petty, 89, widow of William Clinton "Boots" Petty and resident of West Hardin Drive, died Thursday, April 17, 2003 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Mike Greene and Wayne Hardison officiating. Burial will be in Lynnwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Mora Jones Shelby and Myrtle Allen Shelby. She was a graduate of Campbellsville High School in Giles County and a member of Northview Church of Christ. She was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Kaye (Eddy) Spencer of Lynnville; three grandchildren, John Clinton "Skip" (Allison) Spencer of Columbia, Alvilda Anne "Alvy" (Jonathan) Richardson of Brandon, Mississippi, Cody Buchanan "Buck" Spencer of Lynnville; two great-grandchildren, Donald Dalton Richardson of Brandon, Mississippi, William Rogers Spencer of Columbia; a beloved niece, Faye Brown of Nashville; and several loved nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bobby Hamlett, Larry Hamlett, Don Shelby, J.W. Tankersley, Johnny Lovett, Johnny Steel, Doug Kinnard, Randell Rummage and Boyd Gilliam. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Whitworth, Coel Shelby, Tommy Land, Don Beatty and elders and deacons of Northview Church of Christ.
