Doris E Pohl

Mrs. Doris Elizabeth Leist Pohl, 50, resident of Bragg Road, died Thursday, June 15, 2006 at St. Thomas Hospital. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Harvest Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Paul officiating. The family will visit with friends after 12:00 noon Saturday at the church. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 1818 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203. Mrs. Pohl was a heart transplant recipient in August 2000; and her family expresses their gratitude to the donor's family for their thoughtfulness and generosity in extending her life and to St. Thomas Hospital for their compassion and care. A native of Pontiac, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late William Leist and Mary Jane King Buchanan. She was a graduate of Waterford Kettering High School in Michigan. Survivors include one sister, Rhonda (Gregg) Jimenez of Columbia; two nieces, Rayna Jimenez and Talia Jimenez; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Doris Campbell King and Donald King. Honorary pallbearers will be Caring Hearts of Columbia and special thanks for the excellent care they provide.
