Doris McMillan Shirley, 84, resident of Poplar Estates, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama. Born June 7, 1933 in Bibb County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Henry McMillan and the late Fannie Lee Bridwell McMillan. She married Roderick McCoy Shirley who preceded her in death April 11, 2000. For several years, Mrs. Shirley worked for Rich's Department Store, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and retired from McRae's Department Store. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was very proud of her grandsons. Survivors include her daughters, Debra (Bob) Waldrep; and Dawn (Ken) O'Brien; and grandsons, Tyler Waldrep; Dylan Waldrep; and Patrick O'Brien.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters; and five brothers.
