Mrs. Doris Trice Thurman, 78, former resident of James Campbell Boulevard, died Friday, July 29, 2005 at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Steve Kelly and Rev. Eugene Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the Gibsonville Cemetery. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Veston Trice and Pinkie Hickman Trice. She was a long-time member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Mrs. Thurman worked at Dixie Manufacturing Company for 21 years. She later worked for 18 years at Publix Manufacturing Company until her retirement in July of 1989. Survivors include her husband, William Odell Thurman of Columbia. She and Mr. Thurman were second parents to David and Nancy Kennedy of Richmond, Virginia and grandparents to Michelle Stiffler, Cara Barbare and Jenny Kennedy, all of Richmond, Virginia. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren and two cousins, Shirley Daniels and LaVerna Woodard. Active pallbearers are Robby Daniels, Johnny Daniels, Bobby Daniels, Ronnie Staggs, Douglas Woodard, Crofton Woodard, Randal Woodard and Bill Holland. Honorary pallbearers include the Staff of Life Care Center and members of St. Luke United Methodist Church.
