Doris Green Tuttle, 77, retired employee of Bell South and South Central Bell, died Sunday, June 11, 2006, at her residence on Stillcorn Ridge Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Graymere Church of Christ with John Vaughan, Wendell Robinson, and Dr. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Joe Horace Green and Georgia Clyde Holt Green. She was a 1947 graduate of Haylong High School. Mrs. Tuttle was a volunteer at Maury Regional Hospital. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ and very active in Mission work. Mrs. Tuttle was a member of Telephone Pioneers and was an avid bowler. Survivors include her husband of thirty-five years, Isaac Bruce Tuttle of Columbia; one son, Brian Caperton of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters, Mildred (Ralph) Gilliam of Murfreesboro; Freeda Brown of Spring Hill; one granddaughter, Amy Carol Caperton Jeffress of Duluth, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ulna Green, Joe Morris Green, and David Green. Pallbearers will be Neil Delk, Monroe Lovell, Virgil Lewis, George Brazelton, Bob Tillis, and Tommy Cheatham. Honorary pallbearers will be Reece Howell, Donald Green, and Denny Gilliam.
