Video Memories of Mrs. ComptonMrs. Dorothy Ann Sanders Compton, 68, owner of Riverside Daycare Center and resident of Carter Street, died Saturday, May 20, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Brother Anthony Muston and Brother Mack Liggett officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Hart "Buck" Sanders and Mary Fields Dale Sanders. She attended Maury County schools. She was a member of Knob Creek Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, Lonnie C. Compton, Sr. of Columbia; three daughters, Beth (Darryl) Judd of Williamsport, Kelly (Al) Sharpton of Columbia and Missy Floyd of Columbia; a son, Lonnie Compton, Jr. of Columbia; a sister, Bonnie (Melvin) Potts of Columbia; two brothers, Ronnie (Barbara) Sanders of Ardmore, Alabama and Wiliam (Barbara) Sanders of Columbia; four grandchildren, Kyle Anderson, Matthew Judd, Dalton Floyd and Colton Floyd; special friend, Ophelia "Granny" Foster. She was preceded in death by Melanie Sanders and Fred Sanders. Active pallbearers are Chris Potts, Derrick Potts, Butch Sanders, Timmy Sanders, Tom Burt, Ed Sanders and Andy Anderson. Honorary pallbearers include her grandchildren, Bill Miller, Elmer Lusk, Dr. Gibran Naddy and nurses of the Oncology Department of Maury Regional Hospital.
