Mrs. Dorothy Marie "Dot" Lepley Cothron, 85, former longtime resident of Mashburn Road in Nashville, died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Lakeshore on Wedgewood in Nashville. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Chan Sheppard officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. A native of Davidson County she was the daughter of the late John Patrick Lepley and Lessie Chandler Lepley. On May 5, 1943 she married James Nolan Cothron, Sr. who preceded her in death July 23, 2003. Mrs. Cothron was a homemaker and former Patrol Mother for Fall Elementary School in Nashville. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, James Nolan (Betsy) Cothron, Jr. of Old Hickory; one granddaughter, Kelley Cothron of Old Hickory; three grandsons, Chris Cothron of Cherry Point, North Carolina, Pete Cothron of Old Hickory, Tommy Cothron of Tucson, Arizona; one sister, Helen Sharp of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Dale Cothron on March 13, 1997. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
