Dorothy Mann Cummings

Dorothy Irene Mann Cummings, 85, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at her residence on Greely Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Jeremy Butt officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus, 1412 Trotwood Ave., Suite 5, Columbia, TN 38401. She was married to Willie Leonard Cummings who preceded her in death October 26, 1992. Mrs. Cummings was retired from Washington Manufacturing Company and was a member of Berea Church of Christ. Survivors include her grandchildren, Tony (Faye) McNeese, Cindy (Richard) Bramlett, Beth Moser, Willie Cummings all of Columbia and Dave (Wanda) Cummings of Mt. Pleasant; eleven great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; and special pet, Lucy. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Lee Sullivan; son, James Cummings; granddaughters, Sherry Chapman, Carol Lee Hines; and grandsons, Michael McNeese, Richie Clark and Frankie Clark. Active pallbearers will be Tony McNeese, Richard Bramlett, Jimmy Bramlett, Dave Cummings, Donnie Chapman and Joe Watson. Honorary pallbearers include Justin Pigg, Jose Ramos, Austin Cummings, Percy McNeese, William Cummings, David Pullen, Walter Dugger and Ronnie Thomas. The family wishes to express special thanks to Rex, Dawn and Brent LeMay, Joann Pullen and Sheryl Bramlett.
