Dorothy Sue Garner

Mrs. Dorothy Sue "Dot" Smartt Garner, retired employee of Federal Reserve Bank in Nashville and resident of Hilltop Drive, died Thursday, June 9, 2005, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughan officiating. Entombment will be in Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Smith County native was the daughter of the late James S. Smartt and Georgia Fite Smartt. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Charles Thomas Garner of Columbia; one sister, Jimmye S. Rummage of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Garner, Michael Watson, Ray Stanley, Andrew Sorrles, Mark Sorrles, and Kurt Sorrles. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Hudgins and James Powell.
