Mrs. Dorothy May McAnally "Dot" Morgan, 88, died Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at her residence on Timberwood Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Wendell Robinson and Gary Dodd officiating. Burial will be in Zion Churchyard. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Columbia Academy, 1101 West 7th Street, Columbia 38401. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Walter Scott McAnally and Lula Bell McAnally and a graduate of Haylong High School in Mt. Pleasant. On September 20, 1951 she married James H. "Red" Morgan of Columbia, who survives. A charter member of Graymere Church of Christ, she participated in misson trips to Panama and worked with Graymere's Tuesday/Thursday School. Mrs. Morgan was a volunteer with Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary, an active Girl Scout leader, Home Demonstration Club and Garden Club member, and an avid bridge player. Additionally, she was a member of former secretary of the Board of Directors of King's Daughters School. In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Kathy Kay (Rusty) Hanshaw of Greenwood, Indiana; two grandsons, Robert B. (Amber) Hanshaw of Los Angeles, California and Benjamin M. (Lori) Hanshaw of Indianapolis, Indiana; three great-grandchildren, Amelia Grace Hanshaw, Blake Alexander Hanshaw, and Elijah Morgan Hanshaw. The last of ten brothers and sisters, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Grace Ritzon, Noble Savett, Ruth Prill, Gladys Johnson, and five brothers, Paul McAnally, Hazel McAnally, Herman McAnally, Farris McAnally, and Henry McAnally. Active pallbearers are Rusty Hanshaw, Junior Davis, Ron Bishop, Stan Foster, Adam Coffman, and Bob Morgan. Honorary pallbearers include Hal Morgan, Jerry Sullivan, Jerry Hanshaw, Dennis Stephen, Dr. Bill Sutter, Dr. John Simmons, Dr. Vance Hendrickson, Dr. Mike Tyler, Jim Carrigan, Bob Hull, Jasper Foster, Billy Smith, David McDowell, Austin Brewer, George Jones, Frank Walker, and Billy Glynne Rummage.
