Dorothy Nelson Ladd

Dorothy Elizabeth Nelson Ladd, 78, former employee of Holiday Inn and resident of Columbia, died Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center. A graveside service was held Monday, February 28, 2022, at Santa Fe Cemetery with Kenneth Lovett officiating. Born May 16, 1943, in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Nelson, Sr. and the late Lucy Irwin Nelson. She married Billy Ladd who preceded her in death. Mrs. Ladd was of the Baptist faith. She dearly loved her family. Celebrating Christmas was a highlight for her, and everyone looked forward to her coconut cake. Survivors include her brother, Melvin (Johnna) Nelson, Jr of Texas; sister, Carolyn Nelson of Columbia; sister-in-law and dear friend, Patricia Nelson of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.
