Dorothy Ann "Dot" Foster Smith, 90, died Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Millington Health Care & Rehab in Millington. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at Neapolis United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Neapolis Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 12:00 - 1:00 P.M at the church. Born June 13, 1927 on the family farm in the Greens Mill Community, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Vernon Foster and the late Elizabeth Butler Foster. She was baptized in the Neapolis United Methodist Church and attended school in the Neapolis Community. Mrs. Smith enjoyed ice cream and gardening; but above all, she cherished time spent with her family. Survivors include her sons, Michael L. (Ramona) Smith of Hendersonville and Donald Bryan Smith, II (fiancée Tamara Leigh Canale) of Memphis; grandchildren, Michael Joseph Smith of Memphis, Katelyn M. Smith and Andrew B. Smith, both of Hendersonville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, James Robert Smith, Stephen Patrick Smith, Richard Lee Smith; and three sisters, Margaret White Lynch, Alice Foster Woodard, and Mildred Foster Church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
