View Video TributeMrs. Dorris Cummins Lindsey Mayberry, 80, former Book Store manager for Columbia State Community College, died Saturday, July 8, 2006 at her residence on Wedgewood Drive. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery with Elmer Lusk officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Elma Cummins and Ruby Sneed Cummins. She was a 1943 graduate of Columbia Central High School and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Ricky Mayberry of Columbia; two daughters, Linda (Glenn) Sharpton of Columbia and Sally Rubert of Jacksonville, Illinois; a son, Anthony Lindsey of Lavergne; a sister, Elma Ree Overstreet (William) Pitts of Columbia; two step-sons, Michael Mayberry and Jonathan Mayberry, both of Columbia; six grandchildren, Ricky Rummage, Pam Rummage, Ryan Lindsey, Michael Rubert, PFC Steven Rubert, and Amanda Rubert; six great-grandchildren; three step-grandsons; a niece, Charlene (Donnie) Renfro of Ft. Worth, Texas; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James W. Mayberry, Jr. and Martha Jo Mayberry of Columbia. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Steven Lindsey. Active pallbearers are Ricky Rummage, Ryan Lindsey, Michael Rubert, Tim Sharpton, Randy Nichols, and James Rummage. The family extends special thanks to the staff of Hospice of the Highland Rim.
