View Tribute Video View Funeral Webcast Dovie Mai “Pud” Lamastus Sutherland, 88, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 with loving family at her side. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Joey Potts and Brother Brian Talley officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. Family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to Santa Fe Cemetery, c/o Mark and Mimi Priest, 3782 Raleigh Beard Road, Santa Fe, TN 38482. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born November 26, 1932 to William “Shorty” and Jenie Lamastus in Dickson, Tennessee. She was a member of Santa Fe Baptist Church. Mrs. Sutherland started working at Taylor’s Laundry at age 9 and retired from General Electric after 25 years. She liked to travel with the senior group until she was no longer able to travel. Mrs. Sutherland was precious to her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hazel Eugene Sutherland; daughter Bonnie Culberson; parents, William and Jenie Lamastus; sisters, Nonie Capps, and Margaret Norwood. Mrs. Sutherland is survived by her son, Ronald Eugene (Barbara) Sutherland of Santa Fe, Tennessee; son-in-law, Ernie Culberson of Santa Fe, Tennessee; grandchildren, Dianna (Joey) Potts, Ryan (Stephanie) Sutherland, both of Santa Fe, Corey (Stephanie) Culberson of Spring Hill, Tennessee, and Jennifer Jeter of Columbia; great grandchildren, James Potts, Jacob Potts, Janna Potts, Bentley Sutherland, Justin Culberson, Brandon Culberson, Emma Jeter, and Anna Jeter. Pallbearers will be Ryan Sutherland, Corey Culberson, Bentley Sutherland, James Potts, Jacob Potts, Timmy Overstreet, Ethan Holcomb, Justin Culberson, and Brandon Culberson. Honorary pallbearers include Lisa Bloom and Jessica Justice, owners of the Santa Fe Diner and the breakfast crew at the Santa Fe Diner, Jackie Primm, and Naomi Kelley. The family would like to express a special thank you to Tammy and the staff of Caris Hospice and the doctors and nurses of St. Thomas. Jennifer Jeter, Dianna Potts, and Ryan Sutherland for their special care of their grandmother.
