Earl Franklin Grubbs, Sr., 86, resident of Murfreesboro, died Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. He was a member of the Baptist Church, former employee of Dixie Manufacturing Company in Columbia, and retired from Singer Corporation in Smyrna. His first wife, Rosa Lee Hyle Grubbs died September 26, 1974. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Adams Grubbs of Murfreesboro; son, Earl F. Grubbs, Jr. of Lebanon; daughter, Sandra Gail Grubbs Vick Grubbs of Columbia; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Earl Grubbs, III, Steven Grubbs, Perry Vick, Gerald Vick, Christopher Vick, Stephen Vick, Phillip Sullivan, and Cameron Reddy.
