EDWARD R. MARTIN Edward Rea Martin, 55, dairy farmer and lifelong resident of Culleoka, died Tuesday, August 20, 2002, at his residence on Campbell Station Road. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Paul Webb, Bobby Sands, and Ed Harlan officiating. Burial will be in Shane Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday after 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Culleoka Volunteer Fire Department. The Maury County native was the son of Eldred Rea Martin of Culleoka and the late Jessie Hight Martin. He was Food & Dairy Inspector for twenty-six years with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture Regulatory Services and was Past Sergeant Deputy of the Maury County Reserve Deputy Association where he served for twenty-three years. Mr. Martin served as Maury County Commissioner from 1986 - 1990 and was Chief of Culleoka Volunteer Fire Department where he had served over forty years. He was a member of the Campbell Station Church of Christ. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Stewart Martin of Culleoka; and four nieces, Mrs. Lisa (Sam) Hammett of Lenoir City; Mrs. Audrey (Mike) Galm of Fort Collins, Colorado; Ms. Jennifer A. Martin and Ms. Catherine E. Martin, both of Orlando, Florida. Pallbearers will be Jacky Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, Mark Gandee, Frankie D. Harwell, Jimmy Harwell, Phillip Parrish, Rosco Voss, and Wesley Hickman. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Culleoka Volunteer Fire Department and members of the Maury County Reserve Deputy Association.
