Eddice Louise Sneed Burns, 78, former caregiver for Millard “Bud” Mitchum, died Thursday, February 28, 2019 at her residence on Main Street in Spring Hill. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Edd Luna and Reverend Steve Swango officiating. Special music will be provided by Charles “Rabbit” Lewis. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to New Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church, 3863 Highway 431, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born January 19, 1941 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Reverend John H. Sneed and the late Katherine L. Moore Sneed. Earlier in life, she worked for Dixie Manufacturing, Moon Pencil Company, and later was a bus driver for Maury County Public School System. A devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, she loved her family and always enjoyed having big family dinners. She loved going to auctions and yard sales. Mrs. Burns was a member of New Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Eddie (Becky) Burns, Ronnie (Rachel) Burns, Jerry (Fay) Burns, and Mike Burns all of Columbia; daughter, Sharon Burns (Allen) Woods of Columbia; brothers, Alvie “Bud” Sneed (Frances Dickson) of Columbia; Sammy (Claudia) Sneed of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren, father of her children, Robert Burns; and special friends, bus sisters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Justin Keith Woods. Active pallbearers will be Colt Burns, Thomas Burns, Hunter Burns, Jason Burns, Robbie Burns, Michael Burns, and Brandon Woods.
