View Funeral WebcastCapt. Edgar Charles Maddox, 71, longtime resident of Florence, Alabama, died Monday, April 13, 2009 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Thursday at Oakes & Nichols with Pastor John Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. A native of Madison, Florida, he was the son of the late Charles Mack Maddox and Mable Alice Story Maddox. He graduated from Madison High School in Florida and served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Maddox resided in Williamson, Georgia where he was employed as a pilot for Eastern Airlines until his retirement. For many years he farmed in the St. Joseph, TN community. He was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in St. Joseph. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Paulette Brown Maddox of Florence, Alabama; daughter, Tracy Maddox of Columbia; son, Mitch (Beth) Maddox of Franklin, TN; and two grandsons, Gabriel Charles Maddox and Graham Joseph Maddox. Nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
