Edith Jeanette Thomason Cole, 94, retired bookkeeper for K-Mart and resident of Eugene Road, died Monday, July 29, 2019 at her granddaughter’s residence. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with William Robert Wiley and Jeremy Butt officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. Born November 18, 1924 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late James Edward Porter Thomason and the late Elsie Holbert Thomason. She married John Raymond Cole who preceded her in death December 20, 2003. Mrs. Cole was a very devoted grandmother and was a member of West Seventh Street Church of Christ. Survivors include her son, Michael (Daphne) Cole of Columbia; grandchildren, Daphne (Brandon) Toungette of Columbia; Dayna (Jeff) Walraven of Spring Hill; Stacee (Brian) Brown of Columbia; great grandchildren, Cole Walraven, Emma Walraven, Grace Walraven, Luke Walraven, Nui Brown, Koa Brown; and brother, Kenneth (Carolin) Thomason of Memphis. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Raylene Cole; and brothers, James Unsell Thomason and Chesley Thomason. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Walraven, Luke Walraven, Cole Walraven, Brandon Toungette, Brian Brown, Nui Brown, Koa Brown, and Steve Thomason.
