View Funeral Webcast View Video Tribute Edith Raylene “Raye” Cole, 71, retired seamstress, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at her residence.Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. William Robert Wiley and Jeremy Butt officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.Born July 12, 1947, she is the daughter of Edith Jeanette Thomason Cole of Columbia and the late John Raymond Cole. A 1965 graduate of Columbia Central High School, Miss Cole had been employed at Weather Tamer, Maury Manufacturing and Robby Products. She was an excellent cook, baker and enjoyed reading and painting. For the past several years, she served as the primary caregiver for her mother. Miss Cole was a member of Maury County Arts Guild and West Seventh Street Church of Christ.In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother, Michael (Daphne) Cole of Columbia; nieces, Daphne Cole (Brandon) Toungette of Columbia, Dayna Cole (Jeff) Walraven of Spring Hill, Stacee Cole (Brian) Brown of Columbia; and great nieces and great nephews, Cole Walraven, Emma Walraven, Grace Walraven, Luke Walraven, Nui Brown, and Koa Brown. Pallbearers will be Cole Walraven, Luke Walraven, Jeff Walraven, Brian Brown, Nui Brown, Koa Brown, Brandon Toungette, and Steve Thomason.
