Mrs. Edna Lorene Roberts Hedrick Carpenter, 74, retired nursing home technician and former longtime resident of Roberts Drive, died Thursday, December 25, 2003, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. James Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Haynes Cemetery. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late James Everett Roberts and Ada Mae Andrews Roberts. She began her career at Bel-Air Nursing Home in 1974 and retired from the former Graymere Nursing Home in 1991. Mrs. Carpenter was a member of Craft Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Dana (Charlie) Chatman of Columbia; Kim (Dexter) Tenison of Hohenwald; five sons, Joe (Patsy) Hedrick of Columbia; James (Emaly) Carpenter and Ronnie (Shirley) Hedrick, both of Lewisburg; Donnie Carpenter of Only; Tommy (Linda) Hedrick of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Virgie Roberts of Paducah, Kentucky; Louise Helton of Columbia; one brother, James Roberts of Columbia; twenty-two grandchildren; and forty-six great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Hedrick, Zac Hedrick, Terry White, Shane Golden, Dexter Tenison, Jr., Bobby Wyatt, Anthony Hedrick, and Brian Hedrick.
