Edna Primm Howard

Mrs. Edna Lorraine Primm Howard, 86, resident of Lady Diana Drive and former longtime resident of the Water Valley Community, died Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 2 - 7p.m.at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Hickman County native was the daughter of the late George Primm and Anna Nash Primm. She was a graduate of Hickman County High School. In her early years she taught elementary school at Elmore, Bethel and Athendale and retired from Grant's Department Store and Weather Tamer. After retirement she worked alongside her husband on their farm in the Water Valley Community. She was a member of Goshen United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband of sixty-two years, Gardner Howard of Columbia; a daughter, June Howard of Columbia; two granddaughters, Angela (Doug) Sherrod of Valdosta, Georgia, Michelle (Tony) Thomas of Franklin, Kentucky; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Sherrod, Rebecca Sherrod both of Valdosta, GA and Jesse Thomas, Wesley Thomas both of Franklin, KY; one niece, Linda Primm of Columbia; and one nephew, Lowell Primm of Huntsville, Alabama. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Anton Primm, Carl Primm and Lowell Edwin Primm. Pallbearers will be Carl Gardner, Travis Warf, J.B. Fitzgerald, Larry Fox, Marion Sewell, Aubrey Baker and Larry Adkison. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Montgomery, Glenn Ferrell, Dr. Ben Gardner and Larry Warren.
