Edna Thomas Newton Lightfoot

Mrs. Edna Thomas Newton Lightfoot, 93, widow of William Alexander Lightfoot and long-time resident of Sperry Avenue in Nashville, died Friday, October 29, 2004 at NHC Hillview. Graveside services willl be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev. Carson Salyer officiating. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Davidson County native was the daughter of the late John Robert Newton, Sr. and Nellie Gertrude McMillan Newton. Over the years, Mrs. Lightfoot was associated with Western Union, Joy's Florist and the State of Tennessee. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Nashville. She is survived by a daughter, Ann L. (Glenn) West of Columbia; three grandchildren, Butch (Julia) West, Elizabeth (Ken) Crouch and Joanna (Kevin) Dransfield, all of Columbia and six great-grandchildren. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
