Edna Odessa Busby Tucker

View Video Tribute Mrs. Edna Odessa Busby Tucker, 90, a resident of Culleoka, died Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services for Mrs. Tucker will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 pm. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born March 7, 1931 in Evening Shade, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Armon Busby and the late Nora Matthews Busby. On November 12, 1955 she married Herburt Stephenson Tucker who preceded her in death on June 6, 2000. Mrs. Tucker was a beautician for 36 years. She had a quick sense of humor, and was always happy to see everyone, especially her family. She was known for always caring more for others than herself. She had a deep love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mrs. Tucker was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Kim (Roger) Wright of Austin, Arkansas, Mickey Jo (Ralph) Corbin of Columbia, Anthony “Tony” (Doreen) Tucker of Culleoka, and Mitchell (Darlene) Tucker of Seymour, Tennessee; sister, Edith (Ben) Lapresta of St. Louis, Missouri; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her foster grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Stella Hollingsworth and Margaret Gorham. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
