Edna Lee Young Pipkin

April 4, 1922 — February 10, 2006

Mrs. Edna Lee Young "Granny" Pipkin, 83, widow of Vernon Eugene Pipkin and former resident of Summit Apartments in Lewisburg, died Friday, February 10, 2006 at Columbia Care and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Scribner's Mill Cemetery with Ricky Clay officiating. The family will visit with friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday at Oakes & Nichols. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Morgan Yong and Ella Roberts Young. She was a member of the Scribner's Mill Church of Christ. Survivors include three sons, Charles Wade (Geneva) Pipkin of Columbia, Jerry Wayne (Fay) Pipkin of Williamsport and Doyle Lee Pipkin of Kansas City, Kansas; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-grandchidren. She was preceded in death by a son, Virgil Pipkin in 1991. Active pallbearers are Charles Edward Pipkin, Jerry Wayne Pipkin, Jr., Clay Pipkin, Jerry Lee Webb, Percy McNeese and Wayne McNeese. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. D. I. Naddy, special and devoted friend, Marie Cothron, and the staffs of Columbia Care and Rehabiliation Center and Caris Hospice.
