Mrs. Clara Edna McMillion Vandiver, 79, retired seamstress, died Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at her residence on 8th Avenue. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bro. Dorris Rader and Bro. Terrell Pitts officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday after 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Herman McMillion and Lizzie Thomason McMillion. On January 13, 1956 she married Carl Benjamin Vandiver who preceded her in death September 25, 2000. She worked many years at Dixie #1 and at Edrick Manufacturing. She was very supportive of Veterans. Mrs. Vandiver was a member of Mooresville Pike Church of Christ. Survivors include one daughter, Paulette (Mike) Anderson of Culleoka; one brother, Lewis (Dot) McMillion of Culleoka; one sister, Gail Smith of Nashville; three grandchildren, Wendy (Jason) Boshers, Michael (Teri) Anderson both of Culleoka, Holly (Josh) Bost of Denton, Texas; two great-grandsons, Will Anderson and Trenton Boshers both of Culleoka; one step-son Gene Vandiver of Culleoka; and devoted cousin, Betty Rapier of the Rockvale Community. She was preceded in death by one son, Danny H. Vandiver, one brother, Vernia McMillion, one sister, Nina Nelson and three infant sisters. Pallbearers will be Gordon Smith, Shannon Smith, Phil Smith, Frankie Nelson, Ricky Nelson and Billy Maniar. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Gifford, Justin Smith and Dr. John Maloof.
