Mr. Edward Bennett Brumley, 96, retired since 1973 from Union Carbide Corporation and former resident of Denise Drive, died Saturday, December 11, 2004 at Lake Shore Heartland in Donelson. Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites conducted by members of Columbia Masonic Lodge #31. A native of Trenton, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Edgar Brumley and Mary Lou Fullwood Brumley. Mr. Brumley was a long-time member of Craft Memorial United Methodist Church and a former member of the Board of Trustees. A York Rite and Scottish Rite Mason, he was a 57 year member of Columbia Masonic Lodge #31 and Al Menah Shrine Temple in Nashville. A loving husband and devoted father will be sorely missed by his wife of 70 years, Lauree Young Brumley of Donelson; two daughters, Gay Brumley Edwards of Nashville and Faith Brumley "Bennie" (Bruce) Hackemann of Mt. Juliet; two sisters, Lucille Payne of Bynum, Alabama and Frances Thorne of Memphis; six grandchildren, Marissa Hackemann and Lindsay Hackemann of Nashville, Walter Bruce "Wally" Walls of Columbia, Sonya Walls (Rick) Webster of Santa Fe, Sandra Edwards Hunt of Monteagle and Thomas B. Edwards of Los Angeles, California; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Brumley March; three sisters and a brother.
