Edward Alexander Cox, III died suddenly and unexpectedly on March 20, 2017 as a result of heart-related issues. He was twenty-eight (28) years old and would have been twenty-nine (29) on May 18, 2017.There will be a receiving of friends on Saturday, March 25, 2017 in Farragut, Tennessee at the Farragut Church of Christ from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. EDT, with a celebration of life to follow. There will be a graveside service at Polk Memorial Gardens and Chapel Mausoleum in Columbia, Tennessee on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. CDT. He also leaves behind his loving parents, Ed and Lisa Cox and his brother Russell Cox of Farragut, Tennessee, and his grandmother, Alene Hall of Shelbyville, Tennessee. Ed is also survived by his in-laws, Rich and Cindy Thomas, his sister-in-law Caitlin Ziemak, and his aunts, Suzanne Parks, Betsy Esa, and Brenda Hall-McDonald. Ed was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, graduated from Farragut High School in 2007, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2011. Ed also received a Masters of Accountancy degree from UT in 2012. In 2012, Ed moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he became a Certified Public Accountant and was employed by Davis & Langford, CPAs, in Johns Creek, Georgia as a Tax Manager.During high school and college, Ed made numerous mission trips to Honduras to build homes. Ed was active in the Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Ed was a true "Vol for Life" and cheered them on in good times and bad. Ed enjoyed hiking, camping, and travelling with his wife Shannon and dog, Lu. The many lives that he has touched will always remember his mischievous smile, great sense of humor, giving heart, and Christian spirit. He will be sadly missed by all.
